Tompkins Tennis would like to recognize Giuliana Olmos as “Player of
the Year” for 2008. Giuliana had some very impressive tournament wins
including the girls 16’s NorCal Sectional Championships, the girls 18s
Solano Junior Excellence, and the girls 16s National Open in Las Vegas.
Giuliana also had impressive results on an international level reaching
the quarterfinals at the Eddie Herr International Championships and the
semifinals at the Orange Bowl Championships. After the Jr. US Open,
both the Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl are the top two international
tournaments on American soil. Giuliana ended 2008 with another great
national result placing 3rd in the girls 16s Winter National
Championships, one of four major nationals on the US junior circuit.
With her outstanding year Giuliana jumped her ranking from 754 to 11
nationally in the girls 16s.
