Richard Tompkins

Richard Tompkins has more than 25 years experience developing high level competitive juniors. During the past 15 years he has developed more than 20 Top-10 nationally ranked juniors.

Clif Awuy, Manager and Tennis Staff Professional

​Has been coaching at Tompkins Tennis Academy for seven years. Clif has played a major role in the development of many of the top ranked juniors that have trained at Tompkins Tennis. 
Diane Phan, Manager of Summer Camps and Staff Professional

​Diane was a successful national junior player as well as top Northern California junior since the age of nine. Since then, she played for the University of California, Santa Barbara and now Academy of Art University. Diane has been a student of Richard Tompkins since the age of nine and now serves as a manager of Tompkins Tennis Summer Camps and Director of the Pebble Beach Boarding Camps. Played #1 singles  and doubles for the Urban Knights and was Pac West Conference freshman of the year. 
Andrei Cimpoaie, Staff Professional

​Andrei was the former #2 junior tennis player in Romania and overall Top-10 ranked in Europe. Upon arriving in the United States, Andrei competed on a top Northern California level, Boys 18s age division. He was a player on the Ohlone College team during the 2008-2009 season and was a doubles semi-finalist for the Coast Conference. 
Roma Datashvili, Staff Professional

​Roma was a top junior tennis player in the Republic of Georgia. He began coaching seven years ago, working with top junior players many of whom went on to successful international junior and professional careers.
Kurt Del Rosario, Staff Professional

​Kurt comes to Tompkins Tennis with more than 10 years of coaching experience. He was a former top junior player in Northern California. He currently competes on a men's open level and is PTR-Certified.
Mitch Del Rosario, Staff Professional

​A recent graduate of the University of San Francisco, Mitch was a former top Northern California and national junior in the Boys 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s age divisions. Mitch also competes on a men's open level and competed in several futures tournaments. Mitch was voted most valuable player during his senior year at the University of San Francisco. 
Kelwin DeWet, Staff Professional

​Kelwin is a graduate from the University of Samford in Alabama. Kelwin played #2 Singles and #1 Doubles winning the Southern Conference team championships as a sophomore and as a senior. As a junior player in the Republic of South Africa, Kelwin was ranked in the Top 20 in both singles and doubles in the Boys 16s and 18s divisions.
Bijan Hejazi, Staff Professional

​Bijan was ranked 12th in the United States in juniors. He was selected freshman of the year and shared player of the year honors with a teammate his first year at UC Santa Barbara. Bijan played his last two years of college on the UC Berkeley men's team where he graduated in the Fall of 2010.
Duncan Mugabee, Staff Professional

​Duncan is a current touring professional from the Republic of Uganda. Duncan was ranked as high as 600 on the ATP world tour. Duncan is currently the #1 Men's player from Uganda and the #4 Men's player in all of Africa. Duncan was proud to represent Africa in the 2010 Commonwealth games. As a junior, Duncan was ranked as a high #95 on the ITF world rankings.
Fu Wong, Staff Professional

​Fu has been a coach with the Tompkins Tennis Academy since 2005 where he has helped develop several nationally ranked juniors. He was a top 15 junior player in the Chicago area and continues to compete in men's tournaments. He is USPTA and PTR certified.
Sandy Tompkins, Strength and Conditioning Coach

​Sandy is responsible for the academy's fitness and strength programs. She also works one-on-one with juniors in developing their off-court fitness programs.

Stephany Chang
UC Berkeley

Entering her senior year, Stephany is a scholarship athlete. As a junior, Stephany was ranked #8 nationally in the Girls 18s. Has trained at Tompkins Tennis since she was 12 years old. 
Zoe De Bruycker
University of North Carolina

Zoe just finished up a very successful freshman year having reached the final 4 of the NCAAs. She enjoyed a successful junior career on both a NorCal and national level where she was always top-10 ranked. Has trained at Tompkins since she was 14. She is ranked nationally #6 in  Division I college tennis.
Aeriel Ellis
University of Texas

Aeriel is a scholarship athlete currently playing #1 for the Longhorns. Her 2010 results were so outstanding that she was just selected to be part of the NCAA traveling team this summer. During the summer, Aeriel will be competing in several pro tournaments in addition to serving as a coach on our staff. Has trained at Tompkins since she was 12 years old. 
Sandra Florea
San Jose State University

Sandra plays #1 for the Spartans. She was a top ranked NorCal junior throughout her career in addition to competing on a national level. Has trained at Tompkins since she was 14. 
Chris Mark
Davidson College

Chris is a scholarship athlete currently playing on the men's tennis team while just completing his freshman year. Prior to college, Chris was ranked #1 in NorCal in the Boys 18s as well as competing on a top national level. Has trained at Tompkins since he was 16.
